Three Cheers for Rusty!
This Sunday it's the turn of lovely Caldecott adoption pony Rusty to take the stage!
Rusty, one of our adored adoption stars, will be 26 years old next week and this coming Sunday August 10th we will be having a party for him at our Caldecott Visitor Centre near Great Yarmouth in Norfolk. Everyone's invited and we know friendly Rusty would love to see you!
The centre opens at 10am and during the morning there will be a horse care demonstration and a visit from our lovely mascots Red and Wings, before Rusty's special birthday parade at 1pm. This is the chance for everyone to make a huge fuss of him, we all sing 'Happy Birthday' and he will even have a yummy horsey birthday cake made of all his favourite treats!
In the afternoon there will be guided tours of the site on offer with one of our knowledgeable members of staff, who can introduce you to the rest of our rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules and tell you a bit about how they came to live at Redwings.
Our Caldecott Visitor Centre has a café and gift shop on site, plus a children's play area and our very own Horse Wise Education Centre. Entry is free of charge and the centre is open every day from 10am to 5pm.
As well as handsome Rusty, there are nine other adoption stars for you to meet at our Norfolk visitor centre. Adopting one of our residents costs just £12.50 a year and is a great way to support the charity and have fun at the same time. Click here to find out more about our Adoption Club.
