Meet Prince, our brand new adoption!
Redwings is very excited to announce that we have a brand new addition to our Adoption Club!
The very handsome Prince, who is a Shire crossed with a Clydesdale, has become our most recent adoption superstar. He stands at a colossal 18 hands high, meaning he is the second largest horse at the Sanctuary – losing out only to loveable retired adoption favourite Victor, but only by an inch!

Prince has been a working horse for most his life. He was a log-pulling horse before moving on to become a star attraction at a nature reserve near Crawley. He came to Redwings in 2008 with his friend Tom to have a well-earned retirement, but he just loves the limelight so much that we couldn’t resist choosing him as an adoption horse.
Handsome Prince has to lower himself to meet his fans!
Not only is Prince huge in size, but he is huge in character too! His favourite treat is to have his belly scratched and he will give you a nice toothy grin to show his gratitude. He lives at our Caldecott Visitor Centre, near Great Yarmouth, along with more than 80 other rescued equines. In the past few months Prince has already proved a sure-fire hit amongst staff and visitors alike, making him a natural choice for our adoption club.
Adopting Prince is a fun way to support Redwings. It only costs £12.50 to adopt Prince for a whole year and your contribution will go towards caring for Prince and our 1000 resident equines, as well as helping us rescue more horses in need.
You can choose whether you would like a standard adoption or an online adoption. With a standard adoption Prince will write to you twice a year and send you two beautiful photographs of himself as well as a special certificate. If you would like an online adoption instead, you can read Prince’s exclusive diary entries and download loads of photos, videos and even a wallpaper for your desktop. We introduced Prince to his new fans at our Caldecott centre on June 28th as part of tiny Sampson's birthday party, and it really was a little and large extravaganza! Don't worry if you couldn't make it though, as Caldecott is open every day from March until the end of October between 10am and 5pm. Entry is free and we know Prince would love to make your acquaintance!
