Fantastic fun at our Open Weekend!
An incredible 1,000 people turned out for the Summer Open Weekend at our Hapton HQ this weekend!
There was a wonderful mixture of familiar and new faces amongst the visitors as we opened the gates of our Hapton Headquarters for a weekend of Silver Jubilee celebrations, demos, tours and plenty of fun and games!
Our lovely group of donkeys spent the day chatting to visitors (above), while retired adoption Shire Victor and his new friend Boo the Clydesdale drew quite a crowd, as did baby foal Victoria and her mum Mayfair, who were the stars of a talk all about New Arrivals. The tours of our specialist Horse Hospital were incredibly popular, as was the demonstration of our specialist handling techniques with star pony Merrylegs!
Our mascot Red tried his hand at our golf/hockey game (above), while many of you cheered our re-homing ponies along as they competed for points in a Showjumping competition! Meanwhile lots of people went hunting for prizes in our treasure hunt stable, and even more enjoyed the 'Nights Team Experience' as they went hunting for hazards in the dark in our specially kitted out stable! There was the chance to sit on a tractor and find out more about the different vehicles we use here at Redwings, while some of our younger visitors also had the chance to get even more 'hands on', grooming a pony or donkey (below).
