Huge thanks to all our visitors last weekend
This year's Summer Open Weekend at Hapton was a huge success, thanks to you!
Almost 1000 people came along to our Hapton HQ over the weekend of 12th and 13th July to support us and meet our friendly horses, ponies, donkeys and mules and we would like to thank you all for your wonderful support.

Education Ponies Moses, Samuel and Zac take a nap!
Our 350-acre headquarters near Hapton in Norwich is home to our Horse Hospital, Parklands Re-homing Centre and admin offices as well as more than 300 horses, ponies, donkeys and mules. Twice a year we open it to the public and it is always very enjoyable for supporters and staff alike.
As well as comprehensive tours of our Horse Hospital from our Senior Vet plus talks about donkeys and horse handling techniques, there were also backing demos at our Re-homing Centre and even a Team Gymkhana! We also had minibus tours around the site with the chance to meet some of our lovely new foals, and if all that wasn't enough, there were delicious cakes, ice creams and jam tasting on offer as well as the latest Summer gifts from our gift shop.

Austin
However, the real star of the show this year was Austin, a six-week old orphan foal we have been rearing by hand, and his surrogate dad, Chocolate. Austin and Chocolate spent both days chatting to all our visitors and enjoying lots of cuddles - and Austin's two-hourly feeds from our vet nurses became one of the highlights of the day - bless!
Once again, a huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported us. Our next Open Weekend at Hapton will take place on 6th and 7th December 2008 - we do hope you can join us then!
You can also visit Redwings at one of three visitor centres across England throughout the Summer. For more information, log on to the Visiting section of this site or call 0870 040 0033.
