Dance for Darcey this coming Sunday!
Beautiful Darcey will be posing for the cameras at our Caldecott centre on Sunday 26th April!
Darcey is one of our special adoption ponies and next week she will be ten years old! This definitely deserves a celebration so we will be holding a special birthday party for her at our Caldecott centre near Great Yarmouth on Sunday (April 26th) and everyone's welcome to come along and help us make a fuss of her!
Her birthday parade will take place at 1pm complete with birthday cake, lots of singing and perhaps even some dancing! However, there will be activities going on throughout the day so do feel free to come along anytime between 10am and 5pm. Best of all, entry is free!
Darcey had a very traumatic start in life. She and another horse were seized by Customs and Excise en route from Germany, when it was discovered they were being used as a cover by drug smugglers. She has crippled front legs and was painfully thin when she arrived at Redwings; we have offered her a safe and loving home here for the rest of her days. Darcey is so sweet and friendly that she was a natural choice for our adoption scheme, as she just loves attention!
Our Caldecott Visitor Centre, based at Caldecott Hall near Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, is one of three Redwings visitor centres we have around the UK. Caldecott is open every day from 10am to 5pm until the end of October, and there is a café, gift shop and information centre on site, as well as a children's play area and a 'Horse Wise' education centre where you can learn more about our four-legged friends!
