Blind Clydesdale settles in at Redwings
A horse that was shot in the eye with an air gun is settling in well here at the Sanctuary.
Boo is a 16.1hh roan Clydesdale who was blinded in January after both he and his fieldmate were shot in the eye with an air gun.
Boo had already lost his other eye to cancer four years ago and so after this attack there were fears he might have to be put down as he had been rendered completely blind. However, his owner approached us to see if we could help and after consultations with Boo's vet we were delighted to offer Boo a permanent home here at the Sanctuary.

He will spend some time in quarantine here at Hapton and then we hope he will soon be able to join our resident blind group - where we currently have five blind and partially sighted horses.
We are delighted to report that so far he is making good progress and is incredibly calm and a real sweetie!
