Open Weekend dates announced
We are delighted to confirm the dates for this year's Christmas Open Weekend at our Hapton HQ.
The site is only open to the public twice a year and this is your chance to see behind the scenes and meet some of our friendly residents, watch displays, learn more about us and discover what we have been doing during this, our very special Silver Jubilee year!
The 350-acre site, home to hundreds of rescued horses, will be open to visitors on the weekend of Saturday 5 December & Sunday 6 December from 10am to 3pm. Entry is free.
Come along and meet our cheeky Hapton residents
Each day you can enjoy a number of activities, including re-homing displays when you can discover how we prepare our horses and ponies to go to guardian homes; tours of our specialist Horse Hospital; the Redwings Christmas Gift Shop; a café full of warming treats and of course plenty of Young Redwings activities for the children including mascots Red and Wings who love to ‘horse’ around with youngsters! Even better, all the adoption horses and ponies from our Caldecott Visitor Centre will be back from the centre for the Winter, here at Hapton and ready to meet you!
Chief executive Lynn Cutress explains why she is hoping more people than ever will help Redwings celebrate the end of a very special year. “2009 is our Silver Jubilee year so we would love the chance to invite people who have never visited us before to come and learn about what we do, as well as meet some of our special equines. We’re celebrating 25 years of equine welfare so we want more people than ever to come along to our winter Hapton weekend and meet us. Entry is free and there really is something for people of all ages to enjoy.”
