Equine Centre Team MemberBased at our Ada Cole centre, Harlow, EssexPermanent full-time positionAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and confident rider to join the Equine Centre Team at our Ada Cole Visitor Centre in Essex. Candidates will be expected to carry out day to day equine duties to ensure the smooth and professional running of the centre. You will be reliable and have the ability to work in a small team, demonstrating effective communication with Line Managers and team members. The centre is open to the public and the successful candidate will therefore be expected to interact positively with our visitors. A sound knowledge of equine health and welfare is necessary, as is familiarity with Health and Safety Regulations. The position is varied and along with yard duties, will include backing and training equines, riding (including jumping and schooling), assessing potential Guardians and matching them to equines, compiling and completing re-homing packs, updating equine training records, performing some home checks and assisting with the delivery of some equines. The ability to communicate effectively and professionally with the public is essential, as is a good telephone manner. Experience of backing and handling youngsters is preferable, although not vital. The hours will be 7.30am – 4pm, 39 hours a week, working on a rota basis to include alternate weekends. The starting wage will be a minimum of £5.83 per hour.
