Louie was rescued by Ada Cole in 1983 when his owner lost interest and began to neglect him. Two years later Louie was fostered out and even learnt to pull a special donkey cart with another donkey friend. Louie retired to Ada Cole in 1987 when his carer had to give him up, and he even brought his best friend Barney with him!
