Go 'behind the scenes' at Redwings!

This coming weekend (July 14th and 15th) we will be opening our headquarters at Hapton in Norfolk for a very special Open Weekend.

This 350-acre is the site of our Horse Hospital, Parklands Re-homing Centre and admin offices and is home to more than 300 horses, ponies, donkeys and mules. The centre only opens to the public for two dedicated weekends a year, which offer a unique chance for visitors to see ‘behind the scenes’ at Redwings and find out more about the work we do.

A handling demonstration at our Hapton HQ

There will be tours of the Horse Hospital with our Senior Veterinary Surgeon, riding demonstrations from our resident re-homing team, horse handling demos with one of our handling experts and plenty of horsey care talks and interactive displays, including a special interactive room just for the children (no grown-ups allowed!) Guided walks and minibus tours will enable visitors to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of this peaceful centre and meet some of our rescued horses and ponies.

Enjoy the peace of our Memorial Garden

We will be serving light meals and delicious home-made cakes along with Fair Trade teas and coffees for you to enjoy in our beautiful Memorial Gardens and the gift shop will be packed full of the latest Redwings gifts. Retired adoption Shetland Ben will be there ready to meet his adoring fans and you can be sure that our mascots Red and Wings won’t be far behind!

Over the weekend the centre will be open from 10am to 4pm and entry is completely free, although donations are always welcome.

Find out more by telephoning our visitor helpline on 0870 040 0033. We hope to see you there!
